Case Discussion
Dr. Rosenthal will conduct a “typical” case discussion with the session attendees as “students”. Attendees will be asked to have read and prepared a case and be active participants in the discussion. The session should be approached on two levels: in terms of the case itself and in terms of the style and techniques used by the instructor.

Teaching Critique
Discussion of the style and techniques used in the earlier session will be the focus. Topics to be discussed may include The Power of Case Method, Positioning the Course: The Role of Case Method, When to Use Cases, When Not to Use Cases, Course Goals and Objectives, Selecting the Right Cases, “Setting the Contract”- Laying the Groundwork for a Successful Course, Case Discussion Dynamics, Tricks of the Trade, and/or Student Evaluation.

Case Research, Writing, and Publication
Presentation including the power of authorship, benefits of case writing, sources of case opportunity, structure and form, the “Instructor’s Manual”, and outlets for publication.
